I practiced some photomanipulation on a picture of me wearing my birthdaypresent, an original soviet gasmask from 1983, working filter and everything.

Background is obviusly shopped, because I'm not very good at shopping ^^

The best way to make it look less like it's shopped, is to make both the background and the picture your editing have the same lighting and colour tone. Say, by chance, your background isn't as bright as you are, dim down the colour tone so the brightness isn't there, or that apparent.
